Fees
- Early student: CHF 150.-

Conference fee covers:
- Attendance at the conference (August 24-27)
- Doctoral workshop (August 24)
- Language Learning Roundtable (August 24)
- Welcome pack
- One-year EuroSLA membership worth €50 (full members – researchers including postdoctoral researchers) or €30 (student members)
The fee covers the entire duration of the conference. It is not possible to register for only one day or half a day.
Offered by University of Fribourg, Institute of Multilingualism, Language Learning Journal, Canton and City of Fribourg:
- Welcome reception (August 25)
- Tea / coffee breaks
- Lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (August 24, 25, 26)
Cancellation
- For cancellations received by 31.07.2022 (23:59 CET): 100% of the registration fee minus 15% processing fee will be refunded. EuroSLA membership fees will not be paid.
- For cancellations made after this date or for no-shows: no refunds will be made. Amount will be used to cover EuroSLA membership fees for one-year.
Requests for refunds must be sent to info@eurosla.ch. The local committee reserves the right to consider exceptions in justified cases of hardship.
Programme
The organiser (local committee) might have to change the conference content and timing of the programme, the speakers, the venue of the conference dinner at any time prior to the conference. In that case, attendees will be notified. Should they consequently decide to cancel their registration, the organiser will not be responsible nor liable for any costs and/or expenses that may result from the cancellation of their registration.
Attendees will receive access badges and tickets with their welcome pack on site.
Additional chargeable services
- Conference dinner for accompanying person: CHF 70.-.
- Registration and payment on site: subject to available places. 10% surcharge to applicable prices.
Registration confirmation
Attendees' participation at the conference will be confirmed by e-mail once payment has been received. In case of bank transfers, confirmation will be sent as soon as the total amount due has been received in full in the conference's account.
Travel and accommodation
Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements. It is recommended to check visa requirements and to subscribe appropriate insurance against cancellation as well as to have adequate health and accident insurance.
PAYMENT
Credit cards
The following credit cards are accepted: Mastercard, Visa, American Express. The payment will be made over a secure platform. The organiser has no access to the data. Alternatively, if unable to go make payment via default credit card payment method, attendees can use Stripe.
Payment by bank transfer
In case of bank transfers, confirmation will be sent as soon as the total amount due has been received in full in the conference's account. The attendee's full name must be given at the time of payment so that payment can be matched to the attendee. Any bank charges will be borne by the participant.
Validity
Payment is only valid once the amount due has been received in full in the conference's bank account. The registration is not valid if the amount is received late, only partially or incompletely or without indication of attendee's full name. If full payment has not been received before the beginning of the conference, participation will be cancelled. For presenters, registration is only valid if the full amount is received by 31 May, 2022. No exceptions are possible.
TRANSFER OF COPYRIGHT
By submitting an abstract, the author transfers to the organiser, without financial compensation and permanently, the right to use the submitted material in any form and using any data carriers as follows:
- For reproduction.
- For further processing, in particular downloading, storage, and any form of electronic processing.
- For distribution in all forms, in particular presentation at the conference, storage in a database or publication on the public conference website.
PHOTOGRAPHY
By registering and/or by participating in the conference physically, attendees acknowledge that certain sessions and/or social functions may be photographed (crowd shots or individuals) and that some of these photos can be used for different purposes including without limitation news, illustration, information, and dissemination activities. Consent will be sought from identifiable persons.
DATA PROTECTION
For conference management purposes, the hosting organisation stores the following personal information:
- Name of all participants
- Addresses and email addresses of all participants
- Department / affiliation
- Food preferences / restrictions
The data are available only to the conference administration and are used for a) communication regarding the conference, b) administration of the conference and c) statistical purposes.
The data are stored digitally during the conference and for another 12 months, or until the next EuroSLA conference will take place. Lists with names and affiliation will also be transferred to the EuroSLA association for membership administration.
The data are also archived in physical form and will be deleted according to the archiving regulations of the University of Fribourg.

LIABILITY
The organiser will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of its obligations under these terms that is caused by events outside its reasonable control ("Force Majeure event") or if program changes become necessary due to cancellations by speakers. In such circumstances the hosting organisation may not reimburse any paid fees.
Damage, loss, theft, accident, illness
The organiser will not accept any liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying person. Attendees should make their own arrangements regarding their own medical, travel and personal insurance.
Update of terms and jurisdiction
These terms are effective from 01.03.2022 and shall apply to the registration for and/or participation in the conference. The organiser may update these terms at any time. Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of, connected with, or relating to the conclusion, validity, interpretation or performance of these terms will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland.
